Scandinavian Medical Solutions is primarily known as a trading company that increases global scanning capacity through specialized procurement and resale of high-quality used imaging equipment. This is mainly achieved through the sale of used and quality-assured MRI, CT, and PET/CT scanners from leading manufacturers such as Siemens, GE, Canon, and Philips.

The development of these high-tech imaging devices is rapid, which means that well-functioning equipment is often replaced. At the same time, newly acquired equipment is typically difficult to obtain for less developed countries, which is why Scandinavian Medical Solutions increases access to this equipment in developing countries by reselling competitive used equipment at lower prices.

Scandinavian Medical Solutions also has a strong focus on helium recycling, which is interesting because helium is a limited natural resource primarily extracted as a byproduct of natural gas production. Last month, Scandinavian Medical Solutions released its annual report for the fiscal year 2024/25, showing that 3,605 liters of helium were recovered from six systems – an increase from 1,000 liters the previous year. The recovered helium is subsequently used in other systems, reducing the need for new helium production and transport emissions.

For the fiscal year 2024/25, Scandinavian Medical Solutions also sold and distributed 16,663 kg of parts globally, of which 9,983 kg were reused spare parts – equivalent to approximately 60%. In comparison, the company sold 13,932 kg of parts the previous year, showing growth of over 16%. Additionally, the company sold four magnets with a total weight of 16,000 kg to a recycling company, representing an increase of 13% compared to the previous year.

On this basis, Scandinavian Medical Solutions is a company with many sustainable focus areas, while sales to developing countries contribute to a higher level of health globally.
